Itinerary

Make sure to arrive early in Copenhagen to have time to explore the city, most attractions are awaiting you in walking distance from your hotel. From Nyhavn you can discover most sights by one of the numerous hop-on hop-off sightseeing boats from the water. For lunch you should go for one of those many great options - choose a typical Smørrebrød - Danish for butter (smørre) and bread (brød), which is available in many variations for a light lunch. In the afternoon there is time to visit one of the numerous museums and attractions. More information can be found on visitcopenhagen.com.

Scandinavia is also very well-known for it's New Nordic Cuisine, so if you are a foodie we recommend to book a table in advance. Bike Sweden's favourite guide is the "White Guide", where you can find the best restaurants in the Nordics. Ask us for recommendations!

The first cycle stage will lead along the so-called Køge bay, with outstanding views to the Baltic Sea. The national park Amager Fælled is absolutely free of traffic and its scenic landscape will impress you. For those who are interested in art we recommend to visit Arken Museum of Modern Art. Køge belongs to one of the oldest cities of Denmark and is located directly on the coast. The white sand beaches invite for a jump into the cool water for a refresh.

Off to Næstved! Today you cycle through Zealand's green area to the West Coast. Take an excursion to the castle of Gavnø. There are over half a million bulbs, a rose garden, and many rare plants and trees on the castle grounds. You also may want to visit the theme park, "Bonbon Land" or the glass factory nearby.

Today the Sea is accompanying you again when you cycle to the Northwestern part of Zealand. You will feel this special holiday vibe around you in fisher village Kaerebaeksminde. Here is where the Danes enjoy their holidays, so look forward to beautiful beaches and swimming areas, restaurants and cafes as far as the eye can see. In the museum you can learn more about the village and its fishing. Karrebækstorp, not far away is awaiting you with art galleries and alternate exhibitions. Before you continue your tour to Korsør you have to enoy some freshly smoked fish in one of the smokehouses - it is so delicious!

You start with a train ride (not included) across the Great Belt, the strait between the Danish islands of Funen in the west and Zealand in the east. The bridge is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. Today's route is very diverse. A large part leads along the coast, but you also switch inland again and again. You will pass numerous castles and mansions. For the sporty, a visit to Valdemar Castle on the island of Tåsinge is worthwhile.

A special experience awaits you today. On your bike tour you will explore the island of Ærø. A ferry ride takes you from Svendborg to Ærøskøbing in the morning. Take some time to explore this fascinating and historical city. You can enjoy the island to the full on a short bike ride west. Finally, from Søby you take the ferry back to the island of Fyn in Faaborg.

Today you cycle across the center of the island from Faaborg to Odense, the capital of Funen and at the same time the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. The bike tour takes you through the slightly hilly landscape of the Svanninge Bakker. A special attraction is the medieval church Svanninge Kirke, whose high steeple can be seen from afar. You finally reach Odense via Brobyværk, which was founded in the Viking Age. In the evening there is still enough time to explore the city on your own. During a stroll you can look back on all the wonderful impressions of your bike tour from Copenhagen to Odense.

After breakfast, your bike tour ends. We are happy to book extra nights in Odense or Copenhagen for you.
